February 23, 2024 — Richland Federal Credit Union (RFCU), with branches in Sidney and Culbertson, has recently announced two outstanding hires.

Nancy Verschoot recently retired from her role as Senior Loan Officer. During her tenure, RFCU saw much growth in serving the borrowing needs of its field of membership. It was also a period of much change in the regulatory environment and supervision of all financial institutions.

As Vice President of Lending, Corliss Nelson will supervise all loan department personnel and will also provide the addition of a loan underwriting function to RFCU. Nelson is a graduate of Malta High School, the Pacific Banking School, and the American Institute of Banking. Among other benefits, Nelson was previously a tenured Lead Examiner of Financial Institutions for the State of Montana and brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to RFCU. New to Nelson’s position is the introduction of hybrid employment. She will be working both on-site and remotely.

Richland Federal Credit Union (RFCU) is pleased to introduce Dana Jonsson as the newest member of our team. Dana will serve as an Agricultural & Business Loan Officer, bringing her wealth of experience and expertise to our organization.

Jonsson joined RFCU following her tenure at First Community Credit Union in Crookston, MN, where she held positions as Branch Manager and Universal Lender. Previously, she served in management roles at U.S. Bank and spent over a decade as an Agricultural Lender at Stockman Bank in Sidney, progressing through various officer roles from 2006 to 2017. Dana holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from the University of Minnesota-Crookston and is a graduate of the Dakota School of Banking. In 2023, she was honored as Volunteer of the Year at First Community Credit Union. Jonsson was raised on a farm near Grafton, North Dakota.

Corliss Nelson, VP of Lending at RFCU, expressed enthusiasm about Dana joining our team. Nelson highlighted Dana’s deep understanding of our communities, local economy, and agriculture, along with her diverse background and previous work experiences, emphasizing her crucial role in shaping RFCU’s future endeavors and vision.

Jonsson shared, “From my very first day at First Community Credit Union, I’ve embraced the cooperative movement of “people helping people” wholeheartedly. I aspire to extend RFCU membership to everyone. I believe RFCU’s goals and ambitions will be both exciting and fulfilling. Returning to Sidney and being closer to family and lifelong friends brings me great joy.”
