Montana’s Credit Unions (MCU) holds professional conferences and meetings to enable its members to receive continuing education, build professional networks, and discover new products and services for professional use. All attendees deserve an enjoyable and fulfilling professional experience at MCU events, and MCU is committed to providing a productive and welcoming environment for all attendees. To that end, this Event Code of Conduct applies during all MCU meeting-related events, including those sponsored by organizations other than MCU but held in conjunction with MCU events, in public or private facilities. MCU seeks to provide a conference environment in which diverse participants may learn, network, and enjoy the company of colleagues in an environment of mutual respect.
All attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, exhibitors/vendors, and MCU staff are required and expected to abide by this code. The code will be enforced throughout the event to the fullest extent possible. All participants are encouraged to help enforce this code of conduct.
MCU is committed to providing a professional, harassment-free, and safe environment at its events and prohibits harassment or discrimination based on race, creed, religion, color, sex, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation. Prohibited behavior includes but is not limited to the following:
- Offensive or unwelcome verbal comments related to any protected class mentioned above
- Unwelcome or unprofessional physical contact
- Unwanted attention related to sex
- Obscene or derogatory jokes or comments
- Unwelcome photography or recording
- Intimidating behavior, including stalking
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
Prohibited behavior is unacceptable for any conference venue, including booths, presentations, roundtable discussions, workshops, parties, social events, social media, and other electronic communication. All participants are expected to follow the code at all conference/workshop venues and other conference-related social events. For any violation of this code of conduct, MCU will take appropriate action, at its sole discretion, including warning the offender, expelling the offender from the event with nor refund, and/or prohibiting participation in future events. MCU may also contact hotel security or local law enforcement.
If you or others are experiencing prohibited behavior at an MCU event, please contact a member of the MCU event team immediately. Our team will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing a violation of this code.
All cancellations and substitutions must be submitted in writing, preferably via email. Cancellations made 10 days or more prior to the event date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 3 to 9 days will incur a 30% fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event must pay the full price of the registration. Substitutions are welcome at any time. MCU reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any event and will make every effort to contact participants in a timely manner. If MCU extends a registration deadline, the refund time frame will not be extended.
MCU, itself or contracted partners, may take candid and group photos, be videotaping, audiotaping, or live streaming sessions and activities at its events. By registering, all participants including attendees and their guests, exhibitors, speakers, and volunteers acknowledge these activities and agree to allow their image to be captured and used by MCU without compensation. MCU will use and display these images for educational and promotional purposes, including in newsletters and on the MCU website. Participants also agree to allow MCU to use anything participants post on social media regarding the event. Participants further agree that their name and identity may be revealed in descriptive text or commentary in connection with the photographs. If there is a reason you would not like MCU to use a photograph of you as described above, please email us and explain your situation prior to the event start date, and we will try to accommodate your request.
