Melanie Mahood joined Whitefish Credit Union in September 2020 as a Compliance Specialist. She and her family came to visit Montana a few years ago and fell in love. Fast forward a few years, and they made a five day trek across country to move to Montana. They recently moved into their dream home and have fully embraced all that Montana has to offer.

Melanie brought a wealth of credit union experience with her and has embraced her new role in compliance. She recently earned her Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS) designation and has just started on CUNA’s Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation as well.

VP of Compliance & Audit Stephanie Mathews says, “Melanie is instrumental in our day to day BSA duties acknowledging Verafin alerts, performing EDD reviews, CTRs and SARs. She’s highly reliable and has learned so much in a short period of time. I know that I can trust her to get her workload done in a timely manner and I enjoy our collaborations. She brings great insight to WCU and we enjoy having her on the compliance team!”
