Let’s Show How Credit Unions Put People First

Credit unions live by the philosophy of “People Helping People.”

Credit unions exist to help people, not make a profit. Our goal is to serve all our members well, including those of modest means — every member counts. Credit union members are fiercely loyal for this reason. They know their credit union will be there for them in bad times, as well as good. The same people-first philosophy causes credit unions and our employees to get involved in community charitable activities and volunteer for worthwhile causes. Of course, you already know this as a volunteer board member with your credit union!

We invite you to GIVE BACK with Montana’s Credit Unions!

This year, we want to celebrate International Credit Union Day in a fun way that draws attention to the #CUDifference and our commitment to giving back. But we need your help.

Join the Fun

On October 1, Montana’s Credit Unions is launching the Initiative Keep the Change, Give Your Time. With your help, we aim to donate (and record) 2,017 community service hours the first 19 days of October. This will let us celebrate Montana credit unions and your volunteer efforts all month while heightening CU Awareness across the state.

Most of you already volunteer for the causes and organizations you believe in. So, please, take part in our initiative – get involved, report your volunteer hours, and spread the word.

      • Get Involved: Encourage your fellow board members, your credit union’s staff, and members to donate an hour, two (or ten!) of their time between October 1-19.
      • Report Volunteer HoursLogging your hours is easy! Simply visit our website and plug in the number of hours and a brief description of your community service. Of course, this includes your time during credit union board meetings and other duties as a volunteer board member. Watch the hours volunteered grow as hours are logged from across the state.
      • Spread the Word: We hope that all Montana credit unions participate, but this initiative is not limited to credit union family. Everyone in the state of Montana is eligible to join.

We know you already give back to your communities in many ways, now help us call attention to the fact. Join us in this Give Back initiative and help us raise awareness of the #CUDifference.  Contact me if you have any questions or simply want to discuss how to engage and promote this initiative.
