#ILoveMyCreditUnion is Right Around the Corner

The year’s largest credit union social media blitz is Friday, July 26. On that day, credit union advocates take to social media to share text, images, and videos of why they love working at, doing business alongside, and banking with their credit union. You have nine days to plan how you’re going to join the action — which is plenty of time with a little help from the toolkit (linked below) and a quick brainstorming session. Here are a few ideas:

  • As a credit union employee/board member:
    • take to your social accounts and post about why you choose to work for a credit union and encourage your credit union’s social media manager to repost
    • post name signs from your employees to build awareness of your staff and to spark conversation
    • record a series of short videos from your staff on why they love working for the credit union
    • collect stories from your veteran colleagues about instances of the “people helping people” philosophy
  • For your members:
    • host a selfie station in your branch to collect stories from members
    • send email reminders about the day
    • download branch signage to create buzz
  • As a partner, vendor, or advocate:
    • post to your business accounts about the benefits of working in the credit union industry
    • post a story about a great experience you have had working with a credit union
    • celebrate the day and collaborate with a credit union to expand your reach
    • record a podcast with your colleagues on fun stories about the credit union difference you’ve encountered
