Four credit unions in Great Falls are working cooperatively to collect food donations. 1st Liberty FCU, Family First FCU, Horizon CU, and Montana CU are once again participating in the Great Falls Community Food Bank “Bank Challenge.” In the last 15 years, the event has collected more than 125,000 pounds of food to help feed the community.

Here’s what the credit unions said about the event:

From Montana CU: The Great Falls Community Food Bank warehouses and distributes food to more than 70 emergency food providers in and around Cascade County to alleviate hunger. The Food Bank also serves all 15 Great Falls elementary schools through their Backpacks4Kids program, which provides packs of food to hungry school children on weekends and holidays. Montana CU is so happy to partner with this key community partner during a time of year when they can really use a boost!

From Horizon CU: Horizon CU is proud to partner with the Great Falls Food Bank because it reflects our deep commitment to our core pillars: health, hunger, and education. By participating in the food drive, we actively support the fight against hunger, ensuring that our community members have access to nutritious food. This aligns with our health pillar by promoting well-being and stability. Additionally, by alleviating food insecurity, we create a stronger foundation for educational success, thus fostering a more resilient and informed community. Together with the Great Falls Food Bank, we are making a tangible difference, one that reinforces our dedication to nurturing healthier lives and brighter futures for everyone.

From Family First FCU: The Food Drive donations are vital to our organization because they strengthen the bond between Family First and our community. These contributions enable us to support those in need, foster a spirit of collective effort and goodwill, and help us make a meaningful impact on the Great Falls community.

From 1st Liberty FCU: Ultimately it’s to help the greater good of the community and to help those that are in need.” Check out their interview on KRTV!
