Tomorrow is a special day for credit unions around the world! The third Thursday of October is celebrated as International Credit Union Day. This year, the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) promoted a theme of “Find Your Platinum Lining in Credit Unions” in honor of the 70th anniversary of the celebration.

Many credit unions are planning open houses, events, and even special rates to entice members to stop in and join the celebration. After all, they own the credit union and are a big part of the credit union movement. Volunteer board members are another important piece of the history of credit unions.

I hope you get a chance to stop by your credit union tomorrow to tell the management and staff how much you appreciate them and the hard work they do on behalf of your members and communities every day.
