Board Members As Credit Union Advocates

My colleague shared an article with me recently on 5 ways to turn your board members into your biggest advocates. As someone who is always on the hunt for qualify content to share with all of you, this one checked several boxes.
First, it lays out some excellent points on recruitment, working to a person’s strengths, and professional development along the journey. Those are all important to any board.
Next, it suggests that you recognize and support the efforts that are made for their time and energy to volunteer for you. This cannot be understated — volunteers are the heart of the credit union movement!
Last, but not least, the article comes from a firm that specializes in selling doodads. I love that it is from outside our industry and from a marketing angle, and yet, it gets so much right!
I hope you’ll take the time to read the article at the link above and even consider sharing it within your credit union. You might remember that we have embarked on a broad effort on credit union advocacy. This is a perfect place to start!
